Stock modem, isolated OpenWrt VM. Sustained download plus a 10,000-connection TCP ramp.
Usable as a backup WAN at 70–75 Mbps, but high-speed data ends near 60 GB and then falls to roughly 1 Mbps. The link sits behind carrier NAT with a hard 4,096 concurrent-session ceiling, so it is best carried inside a single VPN tunnel.

Fair-use throttle
Full speed held through 63.33 GB, dropped through a single 31.7 Mbps sample, then settled at a 1.2–1.5 Mbps plateau. One SIM, one overnight cycle.
Stock OpenWrt access
The unit runs stock OpenWrt 19.07 (Jointelli the101). A root shell was obtained on the stock firmware without flashing, openlining, or enabling ADB. Access is key-only SSH with password auth disabled.
- Radio control: LTE/NR band, ARFCN, PCI, and APN are all settable.
- SMS: read, poll, and send work via
sms_app; outbound verified end-to-end. - Storage: root overlay has 1.7 MB free;
/datahas 26.4 GB, so packages need a custom destination. - Openline: the OpenWrt PLMN policy is editable, but the baseband still reports network-personalization lock enabled.
